This article includes instructions on how to upload new images, where to access image paths and how to put images on a page, and image guidelines and best practices.
Upload a New Image
1. Log in to the Builder.
2. Depending on where the master content for your site exists (whether that be in a specific Template or in the Business directly), navigate to that place.
3. Under Sites, find the site where you want to upload images. Select Actions > Open Builder.
4. In the top left-hand corner, select Site > Upload Images.
5. In this window, you can drag and drop a file or click on "upload images" to upload the file.
Using Images
Once uploaded, you can place images inside content on the pages of your site.
1. Open the same image panel by going to Site > Upload Images.
2. Find the image you want to use and click on it. It will become highlighted while all other images are faded.
3. Copy the image path, found in the bottom left of the window:
4. Append your Image URL prefix to the image path copied. This prefix varies by customer and site, but will follow a similar structure to the below:
Example -
Image URL Prefix: https://cloudbackend.scdn7.secure.raxcdn.com
Image path: /img/upload/iage_5138.png
Full combined hosted image URL: https://cloudbackend.scdn7.secure.raxcdn.com/img/upload/calgary-copy-landscape.jpg
In some cases, images can be uploaded directly to a Custom Field. Here, select "Choose an Image" and you will see the same image modal pop-up as explained above.
Select an image so that it's highlighted, then click "Choose" in the bottom right.
Image Guidelines
While there are no set Guidelines for every image (as each image displays differently in the builder depending on the area it is applied to: in the header, in the body content, etc.), certain guidelines can be followed. If you are looking for the specifications or dimensions to a specific image, please reach out to your CS team or Support.
All image files must be:
- JPG or PNG
- Under 5MB
Additionally, they should be:
- At least 72 dpi - 300 dpi for print is not necessary
- At least twice the dimensions of the intended display size (for example, if an image is intended to display at 200px x 200px on a page, upload a 400px x 400px file)
