Adding or Editing Site Customer Content and Pages
For any content that needs to be edited in the global parent theme, please see here.
Site Custom Fields
To access the customizable content on Standard and Standard Opt-In Pages, either:
A. From a business, on the right, you will see the Sites section. Select Actions > Custom Fields
B. If you are already in the builder for a site (by using Sites > Actions > Open Builder), click Sites > Custom fields from here:
The Site Custom Fields modal will appear, where you can edit content on all customizable Standard or Standard Opt-In Pages. Custom fields may be HTML blocks with full editors, text fields, color pickers, etc., depending on the type of content available on these pages.
Template Pages & Page Custom Fields
Adding and editing customizable content on Global Template Pages (including an About Us page, for example).
1. Go to the Builder of a page by finding the site or template in Businesses and looking at the Sites tab (on the right), then selecting Actions > Open Builder
2. When the Builder loads, you will be sent to the Homepage (Home). Under the "Page" dropdown, you can manage your Page options, Custom fields, for the current page (Home) or Add a new page.
3. To edit content on existing pages, click Page > Custom fields. Be sure to set your Pages dropdown to the appropriate page, in order to edit content on the correct one.
Similar to Site Custom Fields, these Custom fields may be HTML blocks with full editors, text fields, color pickers, etc. depending on the type of content available on your Template Page.
Adding a New Page
2. Following Step 1 above in order to access the builder, click Page > Add a new page to create a new Template Page.
3. Here, give your Page a Page Name, Page Title, and the Custom Page Type.
The Custom page type may help you determine which input fields and options are available, as well as where the page appears on the site and which layout it has. Depending on how your business was set up by DevHub, you may already have a list of custom types and how to input them. Here's an example:
4. Once filled out, click Add. Once added, a path will auto-generate based on your Page Name; however, if you would like to change the path, go to Page > Page Options > Advanced, and you can customize the Path field and click Save:
5. Once saved, use Page > Custom fields as explained above to add Content to this page. Be sure to set your Pages dropdown to the appropriate page with the name you just gave it, in order to edit content on the correct page. You should see input fields applicable to the page type you assigned it.
Adding a Unique Page to Override a Parent Page
1. Go to the builder and navigate to your local site template. This will be accessed under Businesses and clicking Templates. Go to the Sites tab (on the right), find your local site template, then select Actions > Open Builder
2. Navigate to the top of the builder and click the Pages: dropdown. Select the page you want to use/override for your new page.
3. Now, click Page > Page Options > Advanced and copy the text in the path field. This is the page's slug in the URL. Matching this exactly is what overrides the page. Click the X in the top right corner when done.
4. Now we will navigate and create your unique site or page. Go to the Builder of a page by finding the site or template (generally the name of your brand) in Businesses and looking at the Sites tab (on the right), then selecting Actions > Open Builder
5. Navigate to the top of the builder and click Page > Add new page. Give your new page a name and click Add.
6. Click Page > Page Options > Advanced and paste the path from your previous page template into this field and click Save. It is MOST IMPORTANT that this path URL matches the path you want to override from the parent EXACTLY, otherwise it will not work.
Save Draft vs. Save & Publish
When inside the Builder, you will note there are two different ways to save information.
Save draft: saves changes in draft mode, NOT publishing those changes to the live site. You can see these changes on your Child Site Preview links.
Save and publish page: will save and publish the changes to the live site. Please use this option once all changes have been verified and are ready to go live.
