As a DevHub partner, you may have access to manage some or all of your site content and data via a Google Sheet. Below are some guidelines.
General Notes and Rules About The Google Sheet
- Do not change, delete or rename any column names. You can however reorganize the order, implement filters, or color code fields to your needs.
- Do not change any of the values in the “ID” column. If this ID needs to be changed, please reach out to DevHub support or your CS manager.
- The sheet has an auto-sync function that allows it to automatically identify and push changes to the landing page dynamically. Any changes you make in the sheet should be updated on the page in ~ 45 minutes or less. If after 45 minutes the page has still not updated, it is reasonable to reach out to support.
- Each row on the sheet is for a single Landing Page only.
- If you have a “Config” tab on your sheet, this can be ignored. Please do not edit anything in that tab, or you risk unwanted changes to your pages.
Standard Columns in the Google Sheet
Column Name | Description | Format |
ID |
This is the unique identifier for the location page/row. These are typically pre-filled by DevHub and assigned at the time of page creation. These IDs should not be reused on any other row. Deleting an ID and creating it again on a new line is considered re-use, and will not work. |
Number |
Errors | Typically empty, this column is used to identify any issues with the sheet or its data. If you cannot identify a resolution based on the error message, please reach out to DevHub. | Message |
Sync | This column needs to be set to "Yes" for a Preview URL to generate and for a page to be live; used to tell the sheet to sync if a change is made to that row or page. | Yes or No/Blank |
Preview URL | Automatically-generated staging link used to QA and review the page prior to going live. | URL |
Published URL | The live URL for the location page. | URL |
Publish | A "Yes" in this column will take the page live. | Yes or No/Blank |
Additional columns created in a sheet will not apply or change any aspects of a page unless configured by the DevHub team. Please notify us should you wish to add additional fields or configurations.
Creating New Landing Pages
- Enter an ID (if not already filled out) and the Published URL of the new landing page.
- Always follow the same URL path and structure as the ones before.
- Always enter in the canonical version of the URL (For example, https://example.com/location/ (including a trailing slash at the end)
- Fill out all of the location data and custom content in the sheet.
- Once you have all fields filled out, put a "Yes" in the Sync column. Wait for a Preview URL to appear and QA/review the page for accuracy.
- If the page looks good, put a "Yes" in the Published column. This will take your page live.
Note: Typing "Yes" into both the sync and publish columns should always be done after all custom fields, information, and content are added, so that information is properly displayed and approved. Adding "Yes" first immediately processes a site without all of the necessary information and can cause errors.
